GAK is exhibiting contemporary international art in many exhibitions every year. In single- and group exhibitions special artistic approaches are shown and new views on contemporary topics concerning society are addressed. Additional activities such as lectures, film showings, guided tours, readings and concerts complement the exhibitions.
While it is an important goal for GAK to bring fresh views on art to the city of Bremen, so is the connection with the local art scene and the communication with its members and the public. The GAK features 450 sqm of exhibition space right in the center of town. Founded in 1980, GAK always communicates with the Neue Museum Weserberg located nearby, demonstrating how an art exhibition space and a museum can exchange ideas with many advantages for both.
